BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Commission’s Cultural Division has started production of the 2007 Family Arts and Ride Guide, a listing of all Broward-based, organizations that offer arts activities for children and families. All not-for-profit, cultural arts organizations and cities are invited to get involved and ensure that information is updated, accurate and listed. The deadline is March 9, 2007.
The Family Arts and Ride Guide is one of the many services the Cultural Division offers to more than 550 not-for-profit cultural organizations in Broward County. The Guide is a catalogue listing all the organizations that offer arts programs for the family, by name, contact, address, phone and fax number, e-mail and website address, and a description of the discipline and the projects affiliated with the organization, and includes a Broward County bus route map. Examples of arts programming appropriate for this publication include classes, arts camps, and exhibits.
In order to be eligible for inclusion, the following criteria must apply: organization must be a not-for-profit or governmental agency; organization must be located in Broward County; organization must have their own facility; organization must provide family arts and cultural programming (see cultural arts definition below).
Cultural arts is defined by Broward County as any cultural disciplines, which include, but are not limited to, music, dance, drama, theater programs, creative writing, literature, architecture, painting, sculpture, folk arts, photography, crafts, media arts, history, archaeological and natural science museums, and the execution and exhibition of such allied, major cultural forms.
