Deadline for Artists Lofts Applications Draws Near

Artists Live/Work Space at Sailboat Bend now Accepting Applications for Artists and their Families
BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Cultural Division, in partnership with Artspace Project, Inc. announces Sailboat Bend Artist Lofts, the first project of its kind in the State of Florida, right here in Broward County. Applications will be available beginning July 6th, 2007; all interested artists should pick up an application from ArtServe, Inc. 1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale. The deadline for submission of all applications is July 28th, 2007 at ArtServe, Inc.
For those unable to submit applicants in person, by July 28th, applications may be submitted through Certified Mail. All certified mailed applications should be addressed to: The Apogee Companies Attn: Greg Noragon, 3600 S. Congress Avenue Boynton Beach, Florida 33426 and received by July 26th, 2007. Applications will be numbered and processed using the “Lottery” method, and selected at random. Applicants selected will be asked to complete an official application form and be screened by a panel. The applicants who fit the criteria will meet with the management agent, provide detailed income information (federal and state tax return, W-2, bank and assets statements, etc.), complete a credit and background history check, etc. A non-refundable application fee of $50 will be required.
Sailboat Bend, located near downtown Fort Lauderdale, has been transformed into a model urban infill project that meets many of the tenets of efficient, smart re-development: mixed incomes, multiple facades, multiple uses, and the inclusion of the arts. The project is expected to be completed in October 2007.
