The Design Arts Grant Program is aimed at improving the aesthetics of the built environment in Broward to create a stronger sense of place and community identity. The specific purpose of this grant is to assist partnerships of entities in Broward County and/or not-for-profit organizations (neighborhood associations, historical organizations, local Main Street programs, civic organizations, etc.) to help fund the cost of contracting with a professional design team. The Design Arts Program can also assist with funding projects that includes the creation of regional or multi-municipality, community pre-design, cultural plans (with a minimum of three municipalities).

Funds awarded under the Design Arts Program are for design development and cultural planning only, not implementation or construction.

The award size for this grant program is up to $15,000 per project on a funds available basis. The deadline for grant applications is July 1, 2006, 4:30 p.m., for projects before the end of the current county fiscal year (September 30), or starting the next county fiscal year (October 1).
