The purpose of this grant program is to assist eligible Broward-based, not-for-profit cultural organizations, that have been operational in their cultural disciplines for a minimum of two years immediately preceding the date of application, in meeting general operating expenses associated with the presentation and/or production of a regular season of exhibitions, programs, events or performances open to the general public in Broward County. Grant awards may range from $10,000 to $75,000. An organization must have a 501 (c) (3) status with the IRS, and documented yearly Broward revenue of at least $40,000 to be eligible for funding. The General Operating Program application deadline is February 1, 2009 for fiscal year 2010 funding. Organizations such as Bailes Ferrer, Mosaic Theater and the Sistrunk Historical Festival have received funding through this grant program.
