Broward Cultural Division Offers A Workshop on Thursday, November 29, 2007 8:30 am - Noon, at ArtServe Inc., 1350 East Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale
BROWARD COUNTY, FL – Broward County Commission’s Cultural Division will host the first workshop in the 2007 – 2008 Cooperative Marketing Program, on Thursday, November 29, 2007, 8:30 am – Noon, at ArtServe Inc., 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Preparing for the Unknown is a half-day workshop presented in two parts that will provide participants with the skills to plan for a media crisis and natural disaster crisis.
The first part, Rising Through Media Crisis, will answer the questions: What to do if there is a crisis affecting your organization and you wish to position the media in your favor. The workshop will be presented by Chuck Malkus, CEO Malkus Communications. He is recognized as one of the most accomplished media experts in the communications industry. Malkus will present information to help keep your organization in a ‘prepared’ media zone. Addressing subjects such as News Media Policies, News Media Relations and Gaining Media Results, he will walk participants through a preventative plan to prepare for the unknown.
The second part, Disaster happens…will you be ready? will be presented by Ronald Perkins, chairman of American Document Management since the company’s founding in 1990. If a disaster occurs, having a clear, well-organized plan in place for protection of documents such as marketing plans and graphic design campaigns will help protect your business. It will also enable you to effectively return to normal business operations. Perkins is responsible for corporate finance and investor relations, and for risk management serving as liaison to internal and external counsel.
The workshop will be held from 8:30 am – Noon, and breakfast is included. The cost is $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Register online at www.broward.org/arts and click on ‘workshops’. For further information, contact Jody Horne-Leshinsky at 954-357-7463; E-mail, jleshinsky@broward.org. |
